Sunday Thoughts #8

Well wasn't today just beautiful?! Everything feels so much better when the sun is shining! I used to love Winter before I had kids, now it's just a huge inconvenience to having days out as it tends to rain (a lot) here. So I'm definitely a Spring and Summer lover now. We can pack lighter, not come home soaking wet and have picnics more often. We went for a walk up Marl Woods with my Mum today and it was so beautiful at the top. I could have sat there all day, it was around 17 degrees! Crazy! I hope this today is a glimpse of whats to come this year, roll on the BBQs.

Sunday Thoughts #7

Sunday thoughts.... on a Monday as I was too engrossed in painting the downstairs loo last night that I totally forgot about my blog post until 11pm when I got into bed! So yep, I spent all of last night painting the cloakroom and OMG I love it!! Just need the loo, sink and radiator fitting and that room will be all done. The bathrooms still a while off but my amazing Dad's getting there (and there's no major rush as the kids are just using our shower anyway). Definitely going to order some Lush bath bombs this week though, in preparation for that first soak in the new bath 😍

Sunday Thoughts #6

Apart from both myself and Aled having stinking colds, we've had a pretty good weekend! The biggest news is that the downstairs loo and the kids' bathroom has been ripped out and Dad's been busy working away starting on the new ones. I honestly can not wait to see them both finished. They're the last rooms to get done in the house for a while now. After they're finished, there's just the hallway/stairs carpet to replace and then we'll have to save for a while to get the garage converted into a room and then a new kitchen and utility at some point too. But we are getting the garden done this year which will be amazing. The only part of the old house I miss is the garden because it was perfect for the kids to go out and play in, there were pretty flower beds and we had something to actually sit on! But the garden here still has one section of decking to pull up and then levelling, slabs, new turf, plants, furniture....  the list goes on. But it'll be worth it by the summer 🌣🌻

Life with a Fussy Eating Toddler

Before I was a parent, I had assumptions of how I'd be as a mother and how my kids would be. I was naive, we've all been there right? I'd see a child playing on an iPad at a restaurant and think 'I'll never do that'.... we do that most all of the time. I'd see parents losing their shit in Tesco and think 'just calm down'.... christ, if it was only that easy! And I'd hear people say that their child is a fussy eater and think 'that's probably your own fault'.... I know, I want to go back and give pre-kids me a slap too. She was clueless and you really never do know how much of a challenge being a parent is until you're actually doing it. So did I ever think that I (someone who lives for food 🙌) would end up having a child who's a fussy eater? Did I hell.

Sunday Thoughts #5

I'm not ready for the weekend to be over at all. Not only has it flown by (doesn't help when I work Saturday morning either) but I love nothing more than spending time with Aled and the kids or doing interior jobs in the house, and this weekend has had plenty of both which makes me all kinds of happy. Sunday night blues are not the one guys. Anyway, fingers crossed it's a quick week as work starts on the bathroom and cloakroom on Friday! My amazing Dad is coming round on Friday to rip it all out and then make a start on tiling and all that over the weekend.
