Gwinllan Conwy Festive Night

Last night I went back to Gwinllan Conwy for their 'Festive Flight and Feast' night. I went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago for Erika's 30th birthday afternoon tea and we had such a great time I booked for me and Mum to go back straight away! It's so refreshing to have somewhere new to go for afternoon tea/light bites locally, and even better when they make and sell award winning wine. And I know, a vineyard in North Wales, who'd have thought it?!

Both the afternoon tea and the festive night were perfect, the food and drink are outstanding. The added bonus with last night is that we got to hear a bit about the history of Gwinllan's start up and some of the stories about the wines they make. Gwinllan have five different wines (two white, one rose, one red and a sparkling) and you get to try all of them apart from the sparkling. I like them all (shocker), but 'Solaris' is my favourite, one of the white wines.

There were three courses of food, comprising of lots of little dishes and tasters but we were definitely full by the end! All of the food is homemade and they use so much local produce (including some gorgeous goats cheese, salmon, salami, christmas pudding... the list goes on!), you can really tell that they're passionate about what they do. We actually bought one of the christmas puddings for Christmas Day and a bottle of sparkling too because it's bloody lovely (me and the girls shared a bottle for Erika's birthday).

If you are local, I'd definitely recommend a trip to Gwinllan, the setting is stunning (I'm very jealous of the orangery, I'd love an extension like that if we ever bought an older house), the food is beautiful and the wines are gorgeous. They do afternoon tea, cheese and wine evenings, tours of the vineyard and have an online shop, so have a look at their website for any more info. It was nice for me and Mum to spend some quality time together too as that doesn't happen often enough these days 💗
