Congratulations Mr & Mrs Dennis!

Yesterday we were lucky enough to watch two of our friends tie the knot and become Mr and Mrs Dennis. I honestly couldn't be happier for these two lovebirds. And seriously, you really could feel the love in the church/room yesterday, it was the most perfect day!

Me and Aled both went to high school with Tom, who started dating Erika when we were in sixth form which is how I became friends with her. I'm so grateful to have her as a friend, she's been there for me in my loneliest (and craziest) days when I was single (way back when), we've had so many great nights out over the years (none of which we will be sharing photos of any time soon!) and is also responsible for me and Aled getting together for which I'm forever grateful. So to watch the two of them become husband and wife was pretty special.

We rarely go to weddings so it was a bit of a bonus that the kids weren't invited (sorry kids but you'll understand one day) so we could really enjoy the day as just us and not have to stress about Oliver roaring like a dinosaur in the church or Elsie wanting to crawl around the wedding breakfast. So to truly enjoy the day I went all out on the preparation! I had a fake tan and acrylic nails done on Thursday night and then me and Leanne had our hair and make up done on the Saturday morning. I'm a bit rubbish at doing make up and my efforts definitely wouldn't have lasted all day! In case anyone is wondering, my tan, nails and make up were done at Phase 3, hair was at The Hair Shop, dress was from Lipsy, bag from New Look and shoes were a Primark special (I don't do heels. 1, I'm tall enough and 2, I can't walk in them to save my life).

Erika and Tom planned the whole day to perfection. The wedding ceremony was in the Marble Church in Bodelwyddan which is such a beautiful building. I have to admit that I welled up watching her come down the aisle, she looked bloody gorgeous! After the ceremony, we went down the road to the Faenol Fawr which is equally as lovely. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco or a bottle of beer and directed to the gardens for ice creams and garden games with an amazing string quartet playing in the background. Luckily the weather was on our side too which was great because Friday was a wash out.

I was honoured to be asked to do the invites for the wedding months ago but I also got to do all the on-the-day stationery too so I was in love with seeing it all set up in the room. I designed the table plan, table names, name cards, favour tags and some extra little signs dotted around the room too. They are my favourite work so far and something very similar to what I would have personally.

We had such a great time at our table in the wedding breakfast, my face was aching from laughing so much. They did the speeches first which is such a good idea because whoever needs to do a speech can get it over and done with and relax during the meal then. The food was amazing (pate to start, roast beef for main and brownie for pudding) plus the wine and prosecco was flowing (which may or may not have caused me to knock over a glass of wine at the table... there's always one!).

After the meal I put my camera in the car and got ready to drink the night away. I ended up mixing my drinks quite a bit too much and have paid for it today but it was totally worth it, we had the best time. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dennis, we wish you all the happiness in the world 💗
